Become a Foster Parent to a Needy Animal
The Gulf Coast Humane Society has developed the foster program to care for animals that have special needs. During the peak of litter season, spring and summer, the number of newborn puppies and kittens brought to our facility is alarming! Without the foster program, many of these small babies would have to be turned away because of the time needed to care for them. Although, we know that this program can not save all of the babies, we can at least save some of them with your help. The foster program saves more lives and gives people a new and exciting way to volunteer their time and efforts, while learning more about the humane society. Foster care volunteers provide temporary care for animals of a wide range of sizes and ages. Some animals may need fostering for only a few days while others may need months. Your efforts will help prepare the animal for adoption but more importantly you may be preventing these animals being euthanized at other facilities due to overcrowding. The Gulf Coast Humane Society is always looking for good foster homes, especially in the spring and summer months. Here are some of the most common reasons for animals to be selected for fostering:
Without foster parents like you, most of these animals would not make it into an adoption program. |
